Best 128 GB & 120 GB Solid State Drive For The Money

Report Data Collected On 5/Dec/2016 {Monthly Updated}

If you’re looking to buy a perfect SSD for your laptop or computer and needed some professional advice then you really are at the right place because I actually update this article every month or maybe sometimes twice in a month to make your SSD shopping more tension free because buying an SSD isn’t that simple how it looks like.

Actually, there was a time when SSD was so expensive, but the time is changed now and believe it not, but now you can purchase a 128GB or 120GB SSD just at the price of half money and not just that, latest SSDs can also delivers you the 3x Times more powerful performance as compares to the SSD’s comes in the past years, and today you can purchase a decent 120GB Storage SSD by just spending 50 to 70 bucks only. Pretty Good Right!!

Why use 120GB or 128GB Solid State Drive?

Actually, 120 or 128 GB is enough for your computer, not for the storage but for the performance. And yes it’s true, people uses small SSD’s only for their OS drive like your C: drive and store all their data into some another Disk Drive like using extra Internal or External Hard Disk Drive for all extra data.

Or if 120GB do enough for you, in that case, you don’t need to use two storage devices in your computer because a normal operating system just only takes around 20 or 30 GB of space in your SSD and you’ll gonna have around 80 GB of free space available for all your extra important data.

So, the thing is if you need speed with extra storage then you’ll have to use 2 Storage Device in your computer where the first one is for your operating system like windows and the another one is for all extra data storage.

I’m recommending SSD only for boot volume like C: drive because it will do speed up your whole computers performance around 20x times because your operating system, software, and games, all are processed from the boot drive of your computer (mainly where it all are installed).

Let’s See The Top SSD’s List

In this 2016, SSD’s prices go up’s and down and manufactures give confusing name to all theirs products which really won’t help either while choosing a good solid state drive for our computer and that’s the reason why SSD becomes the trickiest hardware items to shop for our PC or laptop.

But the thing is, you don’t have to worry about it now because I did all the product price and performance comparing stuff for you and actually, I make this Top 7 SSD’s list by looking at over 50+ different SSD’s by testing their performance and reading the reviews of those users who are currently using it in their computer or laptop.

Actually, in this article, you’ll gonna find some different kinds of SSDs listed down below because there are 4 different types of SSDs are available in the market and all are useful but the thing what make those SSDs different from each other is the physical form factor and the physical connection interface.

 photo StorageReview-Samsung-840-EVO-mSATA-SSD-Rear-min 1_zpscavtoeyn.jpg

If you just wanna to buy an SSD to replace your old hard disk drive or you have to need it for your new decent computer, then you’ll just have to buy the 2.5 inch SSD for your computer or laptop and that will work great for you and the best part is it uses the same interface just like a normal Hard Disk does.

Or otherwise if you’re willing to buy other types of powerful and usefully SSDs which you never heard off then you can try my this article >> How To Buy SSD (Solid State Drive) For PC & Laptop?<< And that will definitely gonna give you an idea about, what type of SSD did you actually need for yourself.

Or for performance, just look mainly for the maximum “Random Read/Write Speed” because your system’s whole performance depends on that.

#In My Opinion

If you’re going to buy a decent SSD for your computer or laptop’s performance boost by paying the affordable price, then you really don’t have to read this whole article because 2.5 Inch is most common SSD used nowadays and it will definitely gonna become a good replacement for your slow hard disk drive.

According to me PNY CS1311 is the one which actually worth buying because of its affordable price tag and yes we can’t ignore its wonderful performance too, and the reason why I mentioned Samsung 850 Pro in the compare box because it’s the only one in this 120GB or 128GB SSDs category who provides the 10 years of warranty with ultimate 100K IOPS Random Reads, the huge amount of IOPS in an SATA SSD, but the reason why I didn’t put this SSD on the best SSDs list because of its high price tag and you can see you can buy 2nd best performer SSD (750 EVO) by only spending around 55 Dollars. So, why paying more.

So, if you are looking to buy a perfect affordable SSD then maybe you should go for the PNY which I think cost around 50$, but paying extra 5$ for better performance also gonna worth it for you or otherwise the choice is yours.

#In My Opinion

The truth is, I like Samsung NVMe SM951 for its fast random reading speed of 300K IOPS but the thing is, most of the time we don’t need extra random reading speed because a lot of times writing speed does matter the most and that’s where the Plextor PX-128M8PeG M8P gonna work out for you because that SSD having some huge numbers on its specification page and that’s the only thing what a professional gamer or a developer needs in its computer or laptop.

if you only need M.2 SSD for a normal computer then buying an SATA 3.0 ADATA SSD will really going be beneficial and affordable for you.

If your computer don’t have any M.2 Slot in it and you still wanted to use ultra-fast NVMe M.2 SSD in it then just continue this article and you’ll find the answer.

#Best 128GB & 120GB PCIe SSDs Available In the Market

Sorry to say but not a single PCI Express SSD card is available in the market but the good thing is that you can use NVMe M.2 SSD card on your computer even without having M.2 slot on it, and that thing only gonna happen by just using M.2 to PCIe Card Adaptor just like shown in the picture given below.

 photo convertor adaptor 223_zpsoyqp5ex9.jpg

M.2 uses the same interface just like PCI SSD card does and just because of that, you’ll feel exactly the same performance speed just like using a PCIe SSD card on your computer.

So, just buy a good M.2 SSD and the M.2 to PCIe Card Adapter to give your computer a powerful performance boost for processing all the huge data and workload of yours.
