Method 2: Using Startup Repair Tool

Startup repair is a tool generally used whenever a system is in a frozen state and some error occurs in switching ON/ booting process of the PC.  The tool searches for the missing or damaged files in the system and thus helps in solving certain issues.

This tool can fix some errors within its range or show a dialogue box that states “STARTUP REPAIR CANNOT REPAIR THE COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY”.

The tool can be open by using few different methods so that if one fails, the problem can be addressed by using the other one.

Process 1 – Open by Windows Error Recovery Screen: In Windows 7 or Vista, this feature is directly shown in the dialogue box and one has to select the Repair Tool to start/open. It is done by clicking on “Launch Startup repair”. If the process is successful, the computer gets restarted. If this process fails, try opening the tool by other methods.

Process 2 – Open by Advanced Boot Options: The computer has to be turned off completely. Now, again the system is restarted and during this process, the key “F8” has to be pressed repeatedly until a dialogue box containing “Additional Boot Settings” is opened. So now there are few options that appear and one has to select “Repair your computer” option. User account details are required for it to proceed. A dialogue box appears. Select “Start Up Repair” option from it.

Process 3 – Open Start-Up by Windows Setup Disc/ USB: Select a relevant Bootable Disc/ Bootable USB according to the OS of the system.

  • Firstly, boot Windows disc using the Boot Menu Order.
  • After booting is done, the message comes stating “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD“, hence, click on any key.
  • Follow the procedure displayed on screen step-wise and lastly, “repair your computer” option has to be selected. This begins the process of the tool to perform its task of finding any windows installations on the drive.

If the Windows file is not seen at the end of this process, then it is understood that the Startup repair process is insufficient for diagnosis. The process is then tried by reactivating the inactive hard disc using appropriate commands in the CMD.

Or having a problem with the tool; then check out this link >> Startup Repair – What It Is and How To Use It?

Method 3: Repairing the Whole OS Boot Structure

Solution 1: Fixing Inactive HDD partition: The partition which contains the booting system of the windows (generally C: drive) has to be made reactive. The partition sometimes gets inactive, thus resulting in non-cooperation with the booting of the device itself.

Solution 2: Fixing Windows’ Master Boot Recode (MBR): It is created whenever a partition is created on the hard disk and thus any errors in the MBR are addressed primarily.

Solution3: Fixing Windows Files Manually: it’s possible that the path has to be changed from the default path because it is to be dealt with, manually, which edits the installed windows and now we are finding our previously installed windows drive. If the process doesn’t help the cause, then the Windows has to be reinstalled.
