The KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED is a blue screen of death error name and it’s also known for its bug check value of 0x0000001E.

The main reason behind this error to come up on your computer’s screen is that a kernel mode program is causing an exemption which the error handler didn’t able to identify.

photo 42190013297502742_zpsnb1nzkdt.jpgIf you don’t know what “kernel mode program” is, then, in your Windows and almost all Up-To-Dated Operating Systems, there is a division between the code which is operating in “user mode” and the other one in “kernel mode”. And at the other side, computers processors have different modes of operation which also called rings and the particular type of ring having its own instructions and memory available to running the particular type of code.

Normally in Intel CPU’s it has four rings where the first one name is “Ring 0” (also known as kernel mode) is the one who operate and have full access to use every resource and It’s the mode in which the Windows kernel runs.

Why KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED Is Occurring In Your Computer?

photo ID-100134007-min_zpsscviisgt.jpgWhen your Windows Operating System is about to boot, the Windows kernel is started. It runs in kernel mode and sets up paging and virtual memory.

Mainly most of the programs run in the in kernel mode and when they overwrite each other’s memory which leads to cause some crashes and possibly bring down the entire system.

In a normal language, it’s possible your computer’s windows, drivers, registry or maybe some software is corrupted which is causing this issue.

So, let’s see how to fix this error:

#Error Occurring While Windows Is Starting

You can skip this startup repair thing and move to the next if you’ve having this problem while working on your Windows OS.

Sometimes people having this BSOD error while they starting their windows OS and after that their computer get restarts or I can say your computer get stucked in a restarts loop.

If you do having this problem with your computer too, then the first thing you’ll need to try is to fix your PC by using the Startup Utility tool.

That’s a great tool but the thing is, you’ll have to use your windows installer disc or pen drive in order to start that feature.

The given link below will help you to show, how to starts and use that feature.

If the startup repair won’t works for you then you can reinstall your windows to get this error fixed or otherwise if you fixed your windows and makes its open properly and you still getting this problem while using some software or maybe in middle of anything then use can also look for some other solution given below in this article.

Solution#1 – Use SFC /SCANNOW To Repair Windows

Sfc Scan is a great command run by CMD which can repair your windows by just typing a command on you OS’s Command Prompt.

You’ll just only have to type the command on CMD and sit back until the scan completes and it will repair most of your windows file.

  • Open the CMD as an administrator.

  • Type the command “Sfc /Scannow” and hit enter.

Note: Doesn’t close this CMD window until the verification gets 100% complete.

  • Restart your computer and test it, if the blue screen has gone that’s good, if don’t then move to next solution.

Solution#2 – Repair Drivers

Normally this “KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED” Error caused by the corrupted drivers of your computer or maybe sometimes by other connected external devices like printer or scanner.

If you have an external device connected to your computer then you should need to unplug all of it and after that test your system by using your windows.

If the problem is gone by removing the external device from your computer then the problem is 100% coming from the corrupted drivers for that particular hardware or if the problem still remains then you should continue with this article and troubleshoot more to know which is creating this problem.

Now the first thing a want to do is analyzing your blue screen error and that clarify you, which drivers is causing this problem.

Mainly we’ll only need to find the driver’s name which is most of the time listed on the right side after that KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error name.

The drivers file name which is creating the problem is be like xxx.sys or xyz.sys, whatever it called that has .sys extension at the end of its drivers name.

After finding the name it’s going to be a lot easy to download that corrupted driver.

If your error only shows you the main error name without any .sys file beside it, then skip this “#ANALYZING THE ERROR” step and move on to next step #Repairing drivers because now you’ll have to download and update all of your drivers in order to fix this problem.

The next thing you’ll need to do after finding the drivers file name in your blue screen error is to find that driver file on the drivers directory to get the full information about that particular drivers like, knowing it’s full name or what is that driver is for, etc.

Here’s a great website I’m listed below where you can easily find your driver’s name by searching the .sys drivers file name in it. So open the link given below and search for your driver’s name.

Drivers Directory ->

For example, I’m taking my corrupted drivers name is “atikmdag.sys” and when I search it this name on that website, it shows me the full description about my drivers file which is creating the problem as you can see below.

So, it’s my display drivers who are creating the problem as you can see in the information column:

#Repairing drivers

photo 09_gear_set-512_zpsps82ovli.pngSo, now we need to repair our drivers and if you know your drivers name by the blue screen analyzing trick then that’s great and if you don’t know which one your drivers is creating the problem then don’t worry about it because I covered solution for both of that conditions.

Click To See The Instruction - If You Know Your Drivers Name

It’s good to know your faulty drivers name because that’s gonna help you to quickly fix your problem. So, now I want you to uninstall that particular driver from the device manager of your windows and after that install back the latest version.

To uninstall drivers you’ll need to open the device manager by using “Windows + R” hotkeys to open the Run dialog box and after that type the command “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.

When it’s got open, search for your driver who’s corrupted and listed under their related category.

I means if you’ve found your display driver is corrupted through analyzing then you’ll need to uninstall your display’s driver which you can find under the display adapters category or maybe if you’ve found your network drivers got corrupted like LAN or Wi-Fi drivers then you’ll need to uninstall your network driver which you can find under the Network adapters category as you can see in the example picture given below.

To uninstall that drivers, you’ll just need to expand that driver’s category and once it gets expanded, right-click on the driver name and click on uninstall drivers.

Restart your computer after drivers uninstalling and after that download the latest version of that driver and install it properly.

How To Find And Download Drivers Online?

Click To See The Instruction - If You Don’t Know Your Driver’s Name

If your error won’t shows any drivers file name then you can try to fix this error by uninstalling the display’s drivers first and if that won’t work’s then you’ll need to update all of your operating system’s and hardware  drivers.

So, to uninstall your display’s driver, you’ll need to open the device manager by using “Windows + R” hotkeys to open the Run dialog box and after that type the command “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.

 photo run command_zpsqukv4tpv.png

When it’s got open, search for your display’s driver which is listed under their related category. To uninstall that driver, you’ll just need to expand that display adaptor drivers category and once it gets expanded, right-click on the driver name and click on uninstall drivers.

 photo uninstall drivers_zpswmlr6mcy.png

If uninstalling videos or I say display’s drivers won’t works for you then you’ll need to update all of your system’s drivers without uninstalling any single one from the device manager.

Note: Don’t uninstall any other driver from the device manager besides the graphic one. And also install the latest graphic drivers for your computer after uninstalling the old once.
